1.
Lily 02:50
do you remember the last sunset that we watched or the long night before we said goodbye? i'm holding onto a long shot. i'm holding onto a dream where we're still together and you're still holding me. i gave you too much, watching you sink sink faster, my lily. and this is why i can't keep houseplants — i'm drowning you in me. do you remember the way that the sun faded away and you saw things in a different light? we're drowning. i'm drowning you in me. do you remember?
2.
all i wanted was one last moment. those nights in your arms. i know that you meant it — the way you'd move, how you'd invite me in. and even though i always knew you'd slip right from my grasp, i held on for dear life and so desperate. and you were thinking about my hands, but i was thinking about the chance to be close to you, to feel home with you. of course, of course. august was ours, but the leaves are changing and so is your heart. of course it ends like this — why would we start? and you still make me shake, but not the way you used to, babe. nothing feels the same. and you said, "everything about you is beautiful. everything about you is wonderful. but i can't." i felt the air on my face; thought i might suffocate in my room with or without you. to be close to you. to feel home with you. to feel home with or without you.

If you drive down the 403 long enough, you’ll see most of the places where Ever Elsewhere grew up. Raised by the southern Ontario musical landscape of the mid 2000s, the band’s irresistible vocal hooks, punchy guitars, and powerful rhythm section call back to the golden days of post hardcore and pop punk while offering a refreshingly modern spin on the sound. Featuring Brenan Clarke on vocals, Henry Dowling on guitar, Mike Bielawski on guitar and vocals, James Clarke on bass, and Eleanor Grace on drums and vocals, fans of Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, and Anberlin will find something to love in Ever Elsewhere's infectious music and introspective lyrics.

Most of the band’s members have been playing together in some combination since high school, and what you hear behind their songs isn’t just musical chemistry — it’s friendship. Their upbringing in southern Ontario coincided with the rise of local legends like Silverstein and Alexisonfire, and that same youthful energy still fuels the music they’re making today. The undercurrent of nostalgia that runs through the band’s songs throws back to the scrappy heyday of Canadian post hardcore and pop punk while still feeling like today. Even though listening might give you flashbacks, you won’t find yourself wishing you could travel back in time to those days — it’ll feel right wherever you are.

Ever Elsewhere’s self-titled debut comes out February 2nd, 2018. Hope it finds you well.
